Kafatos Lecture by Nobel Laureate May-Britt Moser on Tuesday 18 March at 18:00 CET
We are delighted to invite you to the 2025 EMBL Kafatos Lecture, taking place on Tuesday 18 March at 18:00 CET at the Student Society in Trondheim, Norway, as part of the 2025 International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT). The event will also be live-streamed and accessible globally.
“The Power of Science: Uncovering the Algorithms of the Brain”
This year, Nobel Laureate May-Britt Moser, Co-Director of the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience, will deliver the lecture, sharing insights into the brain’s spatial navigation system. Her pioneering research led to the discovery of grid cells—neurons essential for navigation and spatial memory. This breakthrough has transformed our understanding of cognition and neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. In this lecture, she will present her latest research and advancements in the field. Read an exclusive interview with May-Britt Moser ahead of the lecture.
Attendance is free and open to all, but registration is required.
